BioKreis - Bioeconomy and Circular Economy

BioKreis is an educational project that introduces schoolchildren (primary school, lower secondary, and upper secondary) to the fundamentals of bioeconomy and circular economy through hands-on learning.

The goal is to raise awareness about sustainable economic practices and to encourage innovative solutions to ecological challenges.

In the first year, interactive workshops, experiments, and excursions teach students how natural resources can be used responsibly and how material cycles can be closed. In the second year, students develop their own ideas and receive support for their project work through a hackathon and subsequent mentoring.

The "BioKreis - Bioeconomy and Circular Economy" project is made possible by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) as part of the Talente-Regional 2024 funding programme.
